For over 90 years Ideal Window has been helping homeowners and contractors by providing outstanding service and quality window products. Whether you are building a new home or updating an older one there are few decisions more important than choosing the right windows for your home.
By 1972 Ideal was producing over 300,000 storm windows and doors per year. Also in 1972, Ideal entered the aluminum replacement window business. Nine years later, Ideal was one of the pioneers into vinyl windows and started manufacturing vinyl windows on a limited basis. In 1983 full-scale manufacturing of vinyl windows began at a new facility on Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne, NJ.
Today Ideal employs over 100 hundred people and continues to operate out of three Bayonne, NJ locations. Ideal has been a Top 100 Manufacturer for well over twenty years. Ideal over the years has won many awards and accolades. We have been and continue to be a leader in design, manufacturing and marketing of replacement and new construction windows. To some extent, every home, regardless of age or location, needs to “breathe.” You may feel some air coming into your home around windows. This is air infiltration, and it is the result of air pressure differences between the inside and outside of the home. AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturer’s Association) has set the industry standards for maximum allowable air infiltration at .30 CFM (Cubic feet per minute) during a 25 MPH wind. This is equal to 2.25 Gallons of air leaking through the window every minute.
All windows, no matter what material used, have some level of air infiltration. However, certain windows prevent air infiltration better than others. Ideal’s vinyl window design and construction prevents air leakage, keeping your home comfortable and draft-free. Poorly designed windows lack the built-in air locks, weather stripping, and barriers necessary to prevent air infiltration. Without these window features, air pushes between the sash and other areas of the window. Here at Ideal, we know how uncomfortable a home with drafty windows is in the winter...that's why we manufacture our vinyl windows with weather barriers that go far beyond the industry standards for minimizing air infiltration.
